The Mastheads Residency - call for proposals

I'm sharing yet another residency that I’m applying for, The Mastheads Residency.

When I first learned about this residency opportunity in Adrienne Raphel's Thinking Inside the Box: Adventures with Crosswords and the Puzzling People Who Can't Live Without Them two years ago, I knew I had to give it a try one day. And it is after reading about this residency that I decided to organizes similar creative retreats in the future.

The location is undoubtedly what distinguishes the residency from similar opportunities. Pittsfield, MA in the Berkshires has long been known as the home of well-known writers such as Herman Melville and Henry David Thoreau.

However, what really drew me to the residency is the fact that the writing/creative component takes place in small studios located in the woods that you visit to create. A nearby building houses lodging and meals. I can't think of a more peaceful environment in which to create.

The application deadline is March 15th, and more information on guidelines can be found here.
