The Healing Typewriter: drawing first art spread

Last week, I introduced my idea for a graphic novel for children that I’m developing with the Children’s Book Academy. This week, I focused on creating on the first spread (shown below).

Here’s a brief overview of the plot:

Kira, unable to return to school after surgery, receives a typewriter from her parents. She pours her heart out onto the pages, sharing her experiences with her parents and classmates. The kids form a writing club. Kira's newly discovered talent spreads, giving a voice to other children with disabilities.
