Stuck in a creative rut? Sharpen your pencils

Whenever I'm m stuck in a creative rut, I like to organize my drawing supplies. Sharpening pencils, in particular, feels like a meditative exercise. It is also one of those analog activities that requires you to use your hands and gets you dirty. Looking at colorful pencil scraps and the progress you make always gives a lot of satisfaction. And because the waste from the pencils ends up all over the place, you'll need to vacuum and tidy up your space even more, creating momentum.

Having a pencil case full of sharpened pencils usually makes me want to use them right away, breaking the block I was facing. And the pain in my hands reminds me that I'm still alive.
