LAMY safari fountain pen, a new addition to my pen case

I've been looking for new tools for inking and using watercolors. India ink was a popular tip. However, I needed a water-resistant ink that wouldn't clog the pen like India ink does.

After watching many YouTube videos, I chose a LAMY safari fountain pen with Platinum carbon ink and converter, following the advice of Sketchbook Skool. It's my first time using a converter; previously, I’d always used ink cartridges. But there's something special about refilling your pen from a bottle of ink, as has been done for centuries.

The pen is very light because of its plastic body and has a stylish black nib. I went with a broad nib for a smooth experience on thick watercolor paper. As expected, writing and drawing on regular paper with this pen produces wonderfully broad lines. To add more details or thinner lines, I can simply reverse the nib. This pen is much easier to sketch with in a watercolor sketchbook than my Parker pen and I have a feeling it will become my favorite inking tool.
