2023 Lockport’s Comicopolis

I learned about Comicopolis, which is being held today by the Lockport Library, during my trip to Lockport last week and knew I had to go. This annual gathering of comic book fans drew a crowd for the seventh time.

The entire library was decorated with comic book themes and was packed with both children and adult comic book fans. Many artists displayed their work, and visitors could participate in activities such as a cosplay contest, face painting, and a photo session with superheroes.

I was excited to buy my first American comics from the 1980s and 1990s. As a Jeep Wrangler fan, I really wanted to see a Jurassic Park-inspired Jeep, as well as a DeLorean from Back to the Future.

It was my first such event, but I'm sure it won't be the last. Are there any comic book events or bookstores near you that you can go to?
