2023 Chicago Independent Bookstore Day

Yesterday was Independent Bookstore Day, so I went to my favorite bookstore in Chicago, Quimby's Bookstore. The bookstore was crowded, and many people were chatting and discussing their experiences visiting multiple bookstores that day. That was fantastic. That was great, and it's the reason I enjoy going to independent bookstores on that particular day.

I spent a lot of time flipping through zines but finally bought myself Kevin Budnik's Handbook, a graphic memoir documenting the experiences of anxiety and disordered eating therapy.

I also went to Myopic Books, a used bookstore, for the first time. I had a great time walking and searching through this absolute maze of books, which claims to have over 60,000 books. If you're in Chicago, you should definitely check them out. Just be prepared for a longer stay.
