The art supplies I bring with me while traveling

I'm testing out a set of art supplies I’m planning to take with me on a three-week trip to Indonesia later this month with a shorter, three-day trip to Chicago. When we travel, it is easy to fall out of the habit of doing things that are good for us, such as spiritual practice, healthy eating, or writing. Sketching is such a habit for me that I've been developing recently. Here's what I'll be bringing to make sure that I keep drawing while traveling:

  • Strathmore 400 series hardbound watercolor sketchbook,

  • Yasutomo Niji Roll pen case, which holds all of my supplies,

  • Pencil sharpener,

  • Eraser,

  • Pentel Aquash water brush (medium),

  • Pentel Fude brush pen with permanent ink (medium),

  • Parker Jotter fountain pen in stainless steel with a spare black ink cartridge,

  • 3 Staedtler pigment liners in black (0.8, 0.5, 0.3),

  • Koh-I-Noor 1580 graphite HB pencil,

  • 10 Koh-I-Noor Mondeluz aquarelle colored pencils.

I’m well aware that the set can still be downsized. I’ve already decided to bring basic colors from the set of 24 pencils, but I’m also bringing some supplies to test out, such as the Pentel Fude brush pen. I’m excited to give this setup a try and see how I can optimize it over time.
