Muji: affordable Japanese stationery

I was familiar with Muji paper products because I received their notebook with smooth pages great for sketching at the 2022 Graphic Medicine conference. But, in my mind, Muji was an expensive brand to get in the United States because it it Japanese.

However, while in Japan this year, I was able to find their products in almost every convenience store and, even better, their entire shop in Yokohama, which also sells a wide range of other products ranging from food to clothing and home decor.

Muji paper products proved to be very affordable, with some small notebooks costing less than a dollar. I purchased a few items that totaled about $7. The paper is of great quality, demonstrating that good paper can be obtained for a reasonable price. I like the brand's overall aesthetic, which leans toward a more minimalist vibe, as well as their use of recycled and unbleached paper.

And the good news is that many of their products are available online and are similarly priced in the U.S.!
